China has tested a ground-based missile defense system

China has tested a ground-based missile defense system (ABM).

This is stated in a message published on Friday on the social network WeChat by the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China.
"China has conducted a test of a ground-based system for intercepting medium-trajectory missiles on its territory, the set goals have been achieved," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The defense ministry also stressed that the tests were defensive in nature and not directed against other countries, writes TASS.
