French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at Beijing Capital Airport on Wednesday. Footage of the arrival of the plane with the French leader on board was shown by China Central Television.
During the visit, which will last until April 7, he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (Parliament) Zhao Leji.
In addition to Beijing, the French leader will visit the city of Guangzhou in the southern province of Guangdong.
This is the French leader's first trip to China in the last three and a half years, the previous time he visited Beijing in the fall of 2019 during his first presidential term.
According to sources in the Elysee Palace, the French leader plans to discuss in Beijing the Ukrainian conflict and the development of bilateral Franco-Chinese ties, primarily in the economic sphere, writes TASS.
