This was announced on Wednesday by the press service of the Rosatom state Corporation, noting that the program of long-term cooperation was signed the day before during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia.
As noted in the message of the state corporation, the document is complex. It covers several key areas at once: the expansion of cooperation on current ones, as well as the implementation of new projects related to fast neutron reactors; the production of uranium-plutonium fuel; the management of spent nuclear fuel, etc. "In essence, we are talking about cooperation for decades to come and the formation of vectors for the development of nuclear energy at the global level", - emphasized in the message of Rosatom.
One of the largest projects of Russian-Chinese cooperation is the construction of the Tianwan NPP in the Chinese province of Jiangsu. The third stage of the station is being constructed by the engineering division of the Rosatom State Corporation.
In addition, the Xudapu nuclear power plant is being built in Liaoning Province. Power units No. 3 and No. 4 of the Syudapu NPP are being built according to the NPP-2006 project and meet modern IAEA safety requirements.
Among other areas of cooperation is a contract for the supply of fuel for CFR-600, the contractor for which is Rosatom's fuel company TVEL. The agreement was concluded in December 2018 as part of the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement, writes TASS.
