China will resume issuing all types of visas to foreign citizens from March 15

The Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China on Tuesday confirmed that China intends to resume consideration and issuance of all categories of visas for foreign citizens to enter the country from March 15.

This is stated in the statement of the department in the social network WeChat.
As indicated in the message, in order to further improve the movement of citizens across the border, a decision was made from 00:00 on March 15, Beijing time (19:00 on March 14, Moscow time) make adjustments to the policy of issuing visas and entry of foreign citizens to China.
"The visa issuing authorities located abroad will resume consideration and issuance of all categories of visas to foreign citizens traveling to China," the document says.
It is also noted that from March 15, the function of visas that were issued before March 28, 2020 and which have not expired will be restored. In addition, the issuance of cross-border visas by border points will be restored "if the relevant conditions are met."
The message also says that from Wednesday, the policy of visa-free entry to the southern Chinese province of Hainan and the policy of visa-free entry to Shanghai for cruise ship passengers, as well as visa-free entry to the southern province of Guangdong for organized groups of foreign citizens entering from Hong Kong and Macau and visa-free travel for tourist groups from ASEAN countries entering the city will be resumed Guilin of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (south of China), writes TASS.
