Putin congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election as President of the People's Republic of China

The text of the congratulation was published on Friday on the Kremlin's website.
"Dear Mr. Xi Jinping, dear friend, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your re-election as President of the People's Republic of China," the telegram reads. "The decision of the National People's Congress is evidence of recognition of your merits as head of state, as well as broad support for the course you are pursuing for the further socio-economic development of China and the protection of national interests on the world stage," Putin said.
The Russian President assured that Moscow and Beijing will continue to coordinate on key issues. "We will continue to coordinate joint work on the most important issues on the regional and international agenda," the congratulatory message of the head of the Russian state reads.
Putin also expressed confidence that he and Xi Jinping will ensure the expansion of cooperation between Russia and China in various fields. "Russia highly appreciates your personal contribution to strengthening the relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between our states. I am confident that, acting together, we will ensure the expansion of fruitful Russian-Chinese cooperation in various fields," the telegram emphasizes.
Addressing Xi Jinping as a dear friend, Putin wished him new successes in state activities for the benefit of the friendly Chinese people, as well as good health and well-being.
Xi Jinping, who turns 70 in June, was re-elected President of China on Friday for an unprecedented third five-year term. This became possible after amendments to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China were made in 2018: now the same person can hold the post of head of state an unlimited number of times.
