"We are waiting for the Chairman of the People's Republic of China to visit Russia. We have agreed on this before," Putin said, welcoming Wang Yi, head of the Chancellery of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Foreign Affairs, member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, at a meeting in the Kremlin on Wednesday.
"We understand that [China] has an internal political agenda, but we proceed from the fact that as all issues related to this agenda are resolved - with the National People's Congress of Representatives, which is scheduled by the corresponding Congress of Deputies of China, where serious personnel issues should be resolved, we will implement our plans for personal meetings which will give an additional impetus to the development of our relations," the President of the Russian Federation noted.
As previously reported, the sessions of the supreme advisory and legislative bodies of the People's Republic of China - the All-China Committee of the People's Political Consultative Council of China (CPPCC) and the National People's Congress - will open in Beijing on March 4 and 5. During them, deputies will traditionally discuss socio-economic achievements and prospects for further development of the country, approve new projects. At the same time, it is planned to make a series of reshuffles in key posts and government positions in China.
