Group visa-free travel between Russia and China has not yet been resumed

5 41 scaled 1 1060x596The resumption of the agreement on visa-free exchange of tourists between Russia and China does not mean the start of work on sending tourists from both sides, the date of resumption of such trips has not yet been announced.

This was reported to journalists by Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
"The announcement of the resumption of the agreement on visa-free exchange of tourists between Russia and China does not in fact mean the start of work on sending tourists from both sides. The date of resumption of such trips has not been announced yet," she said.
The expert noted that a number of technical issues are being settled, in particular, the exchange of lists of authorized tour operators. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the agency expects such a list from Chinese colleagues. However, the provision of the list will also not mean the resumption of visa-free travel until both sides agree and publish the date - from which point it is possible to start forming groups for visa-free exchange.
"To summarize: the next step to resume a full-fledged tourist flow between China and Russia has been made, but it is not enough, we are waiting for the date," Lomidze stressed.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation reported that the agreement between Russia and China on visa-free group tourist trips has resumed effect, writes TASS.
