China has resumed air traffic with Georgia

The first flight to Tbilisi from Urumqi was carried out by China Southern Airlines, the press service of TAV Georgia, which owns Tbilisi and Batumi airports, reported on Friday.
"After a three-year pause caused by the pandemic, China Southern Airlines has returned to the Georgian aviation market. The Chinese airline performed its first flight from Urumqi to Tbilisi today," the message reads.
During the entire winter navigation season, the Chinese airline will operate flights on the Urumqi - Tbilisi - Urumqi route once a week, on Fridays. In the summer, it is planned to increase the frequency of flights.
According to the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, more than 7.3 thousand tourist trips were made from China in 2022, which is 112.8% more than in 2021, writes TASS.
