Ecuador has successfully completed free trade negotiations with China

5d4df4a9bc9eea0fdb41cb567ed264a8Ecuador's President Guillermo Lasso said on Tuesday that his country had successfully negotiated a free trade agreement with China.

"Good news for the beginning of 2023. Negotiations on a free trade agreement between China and Ecuador have been successfully completed. Our exports will have preferential access to the largest market in the world, our industry will be able to purchase equipment and resources at lower prices," the head of state wrote on Twitter.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Production and Fisheries of Ecuador, the agreement will facilitate access to the Chinese market of products of the agro-industrial sector of the Latin American country, thereby contributing to job creation, growth and investment attraction. "Currently, the joint trade turnover between Ecuador and China exceeds $ 10 billion, it is constantly strengthening and growing. Until the first half of 2022, China became Ecuador's main non-oil trading partner. Deepening and expanding trade through the trade agreement will bring numerous benefits to both countries," the statement on the agency's website reads.
It is noted that the date of signing of the agreement has not yet been determined, writes TASS.
