Xi Jinping presented the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China to the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Xi Jinping on Monday awarded the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong.

As reported by China Central Television, the ceremony was held at the House of People's Representatives, the building of the Chinese Parliament, in Beijing.
"This order expresses the friendly feelings of the CPC and the Chinese people towards Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong and the Vietnamese people," Xi Jinping said. He also added that this award symbolizes the fraternal friendship between China and Vietnam.
Nguyen Fu Chong became the tenth holder of the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China.
The Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPV is in China on an official visit, which will last until November 2, at the head of a high-ranking party and government delegation.
The Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China is awarded to foreigners who have made an outstanding contribution to the socialist modernization of China, the development of cooperation between China and other countries, as well as to the maintenance of world peace. For the first time, in 2018, this high state award of China was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2019, the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China was awarded to the Russian sinologist, first deputy chairman of the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship Galina Kulikova, writes "TASS".
