The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China re-elected Xi Jinping to the post of Secretary General for a third term

WTdriRPyJ2YThe Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) on Sunday re-elected Xi Jinping to the post of general secretary for a third term.

This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.
As expected, Chinese President Xi Jinping will retain his posts as head of state and Chairman of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China also elected a new composition of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee. According to China Central Television, seven people have re-entered it.
The vote was held at the first plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China of the 20th convocation. The members of the PC were Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Li Xi, Cai Qi and Ding Xuexiang.
In addition to the seven members of the Standing Committee, the Politburo included Ma Xingrui, Wang Yi, Yin Li, Shi Taifeng, Liu Guozhong, Li Ganjie, Li Shulei, Li Hongzhong, He Weidong, He Lifeng, Zhang Yuxia, Zhang Guoqing, Chen Wenqing, Chen Jining, Chen Min'er, Yuan Jiajun and Huang Kunming.
The CPC Central Committee did not elect a single woman to the new Politburo. Since 1949, a total of only 8 women have joined the various Politburo structures. The last of them was Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan.
Following the results of the session of the National People's Congress (NPC, legislative body), which will be held in March 2023, members of the Politburo of the Central Committee will traditionally occupy the positions of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Chairman of the NPC and other important posts in the Chinese political structure, writes TASS.
