Chinese Deputy Chairman Wang Qishan to attend CICA Summit in Kazakhstan

61efc5914a1ca022371554Vice-President of the People's Republic of China Wang Qishan will take part in the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA), which will be held on October 12-13 in Astana.

This was announced on Tuesday by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Mao Ning. Mao Ning: "At the invitation of the Government of Kazakhstan, which chairs the CICA, Vice Chairman of the People's Republic of China Wang Qishan, at the head of the Chinese delegation, will take part in the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia." The Kazakh side will preside over the CICA in 2020-2022. Currently, 27 countries are members of the organization: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Israel, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Thailand, Republic of Korea, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Iraq, Bahrain, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Qatar, Sri Lanka. Nine other countries and five international organizations have observer status. Since 2014, the headquarters of the forum has been located in the Kazakh capital.
