Xi Jinping urged the Chinese military to focus on preparing for wars

Chinese President Xi Jinping called on the Chinese military to focus on preparing for military action. He made such an appeal on Wednesday at a seminar on national defense and military reform in Beijing.

"It is necessary to conscientiously generalize and apply the successful experience of reforms, master the new situation and [understand] the requirements of tasks, focus on preparing for wars, and also have the courage to explore and innovate," Xinhua quoted the Chinese leader as saying. He added that the PRC should reach a new level in the field of reform and strengthening of the army.
Xi Jinping also noted that over the past ten years, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Council (CVS) The PRC "has fully implemented the strategy of reforming and strengthening the armed forces." According to him, during this time, China has made historic achievements in deepening the reform of national defense and the armed forces, and now the Chinese armed forces have "a new system, structure, model and appearance."
