Beijing expresses its readiness to promote together with Moscow a new comprehensive security concept. This was stated on Monday by a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee), secretary of the political and legal Commission of the CPC Central Committee Guo Shengkun at a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.

He said that the PRC intends to promote security cooperation with the Russian Federation to a new level in order to achieve great success in maintaining the national security of the two countries and the stability of world peace.
The member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee noted that since the establishment of the Sino-Russian cooperation mechanism in the field of law enforcement and security, China and Russia have been closely cooperating in ensuring national political security, combating terrorism, drugs and transnational crime.
Patrushev and Guo Shengkun met in Nanping (eastern China's Fujian Province) on Monday as part of the seventh round of intergovernmental consultations on public security, justice and law and order.
