The death toll as a result of a powerful earthquake in China has reached 46

As a result of an earthquake of magnitude 6.8, which occurred on Monday in Sichuan province in southwestern China, 46 people were killed.

This was reported by the Central Television of the People's Republic of China.
The bodies of 29 victims were found in Gardze-Tibet Autonomous Region, 17 - in the city district of Ya'an. More than 50 people were injured, 16 more are missing.
In total, more than 50 thousand people were temporarily displaced in the Gardze-Tibet Autonomous Region and the Ya'an City District.
Earlier it was reported about more than 30 dead.
The Chinese authorities have allocated 50 million yuan (about $ 7.25 million) to carry out rescue operations and eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster. Basic necessities, including 3,000 tents and 10,000 folding beds, were sent to Ludin County, where the epicenter of the earthquake was located.
