"In connection with the emergency situation in Pakistan, China will provide this country with a package of emergency humanitarian assistance," the statement said.
It clarifies that Beijing will send basic necessities and more than 25 thousand tents for those who lost their homes due to floods. In addition, the Chinese Red Cross Society will donate 300 thousand dollars to the Pakistani Red Crescent Society.
"China will continue to strengthen cooperation with Pakistan on disaster relief and countering climate change," the Chinese Foreign Ministry informed. "We believe that under the leadership of the Pakistani Government and thanks to the help of the international community, those who find themselves in the disaster zone will surely overcome difficulties and return to normal life in the near future."
Monsoon rains, which have been continuing in Pakistan since June, have led to large-scale floods and landslides throughout the country.
