The Chinese Armed Forces successfully completed their tasks during the exercises in the area of Taiwan Island.

This is stated in a message from the representative of the Eastern Zone of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Combat Command, Senior Colonel Shi Yi, posted on Wednesday on her official WeChat messenger account.
"The Eastern zone of the PLA combat Command has recently conducted a number of military operations in the airspace and at sea around the island of Taiwan by forces of various branches of the armed forces, all tasks were successfully completed, the joint combat capabilities of the troops were effectively tested," the statement says. The representative of the command also said that the Chinese army will monitor changes in the situation in the Taiwan Strait, continue to conduct exercises to prepare for combat operations and will regularly organize patrols in the Taiwan Strait area.
Over the past week, China has conducted a series of exercises in different areas along its coast amid rising tensions in the Taiwan Strait after the August 2-3 trip of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi to Taipei, which caused sharp criticism from mainland China. Beijing has repeatedly warned Washington that it will take retaliatory measures if the visit of Pelosi, who holds the third most important post in the US state hierarchy, takes place.
The Chinese military began large-scale military maneuvers with rocket firing in six zones of the Taiwan water area on August 4. It was assumed that these exercises would end at noon on Sunday (07:00 Moscow time), but then they were extended indefinitely.
