Hong Kong regained the title of the most expensive city for foreigners to live in

Hong Kong regained the title of the most expensive city in the world for the residence of employees of foreign companies.

This is evidenced by the rating compiled by the American consulting company Mercer and published on Monday by the South China Morning Post newspaper.
Hong Kong topped this list for three years in a row - until 2020, but in 2021 it was displaced by the capital of Turkmenistan - Ashgabat.
The study took into account factors such as the cost of housing, transport, food, clothing, entertainment and services in 227 large settlements of the planet, as well as fluctuations in the exchange rates of national currencies used there. The standard of living in New York is taken as a basis.
The following lines after Hong Kong in the top five went to the cities of Switzerland - Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Bern. Tel Aviv is in sixth position, followed by New York, Singapore, Tokyo and Beijing. Dushanbe, Bishkek and Ankara complete this rating.
