This was stated on Thursday by the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Gao Feng.
"We have paid attention to the relevant statements of the American side and express a strong protest about this," he said at a weekly briefing, commenting on the speech of US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo criticizing China. "We will definitely take the necessary retaliatory measures to protect the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises."
As Gao Feng clarified, Beijing considers unacceptable the unilateral actions of the United States, whose policy recently "seriously threatens the stability of global supply chains." He stressed that Washington should not abuse the power of the state apparatus to exert pressure on companies in other countries.
"The United States should immediately abandon the erroneous strategy and make as much effort as possible to restore the global economy and ensure its stability," the official representative of the ministry summed up.
As Raimondo reported on Tuesday, in the foreseeable future, the United States is not going to ease the export control regime and other restrictions against China. According to her, China "does not stand still" and "comes up with new ways" to circumvent American restrictive measures. The minister also pointed to Beijing's "unfair competitive advantages" and expressed readiness to tighten conditions for American investments in the Chinese economy
