About 50 thousand people in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China were in a disaster zone due to heavy rains and floods caused by them, Xinhua news agency reported on Friday.

Heavy rains in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as in almost all southern regions of China, began on May 8, meteorologists published warnings about possible landslides and mudslides, advising residents to avoid potentially dangerous areas.
Damage was also caused to agriculture, lands with an area of over 3.8 thousand hectares were damaged, 19 households were destroyed, about 90 seriously damaged buildings.
