The authorities of the city of Sanya on the southern coast of Hainan Island plan to intensify efforts to strengthen the innovative model of economic development, which will allow to create a resort and an international consumer zone in the shortest possible time. This was stated by the head of the municipal Department of Culture and Tourism Chen Zhenmin.
"We will create a popular tourist resort of international level. The scientific and innovative cluster of the [Hainan] Free Trade Port will also be located here," the Sanya Zhibao newspaper quotes the head of the department. - At the same time we <...> we will outline the direction for the accelerated formation of a key zone of the international consumer center in Sanya."
