"Russian Railways business Asset" has opened a new overland container service from China to Russia.This was reported in the press service of the company.
"We have organized a land multimodal service between China and Russia through Kazakhstan. A new route with a container delivery time of 18 days is open between Shenzhen and St. Petersburg," the company said.
The holding also noted that the first train with forty-foot containers was sent in March, it will pass through the Khorgos - Altynkol border crossings between China and Kazakhstan and the Seven-headed Mar - Ozinki between Kazakhstan and Russia. The main cargo is consumer goods.
In the future, the company plans to ensure the regularity of cargo delivery along this route and send four trains monthly.
Earlier, Russian Railways Business Asset organized a new container service between the Stupino terminal (Moscow Region) and the port of Vanino (Khabarovsk Territory). The service provides for the use of the operator's own platforms in conjunction with the terminal capabilities of Russian Railways. This will allow sending and receiving up to eight full-length container trains with a length of 57 conventional wagons every month, writes TASS.
