China has connected 300 million Chinese residents to winter sports

President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping said that 300 million Chinese residents joined winter sports in preparation for the Olympics in Beijing.

The Olympic Games in Beijing will be held on February 4-20. The 139th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is taking place in the capital of China on Thursday, RIA Novosti writes.
"China has taken an active part in the development of the Olympic movement. We promote Olympic ideals. 300 million Chinese residents have been connected to winter sports. They helped to protect the environment and improve the standard of living of the population, creating a space for winter sports. The world is looking at China, and China is ready for it. We will make every effort to hold a safe, orderly and simply magnificent Winter Olympic Games," Xi Jinping said at the IOC session.
"Today's world is under the influence of a pandemic and other challenges. We are in a period of transformation. The IOC courageously and consistently led the Olympic movement forward. The Organization has played an important role in ensuring global solidarity and cooperation. I thank the IOC for its contribution to the development of sports in China. The slogan of the 2008 Summer Olympics was "One world— one dream". Today, at the 2022 Winter Olympics, we say "Together for the sake of a common future," Xi Jinping said.
