bbe9508bb64b6fea597157391bd3dc2eThe Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline, which will be carried out from Russia to Mongolia and China, may begin work in 2027-2028.

This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan.

"In general, the start of construction [of the gas pipeline] is scheduled for 2024. The date of full commissioning is tentatively scheduled for 2027-2028," the agency MONTSAME quotes him as saying.

According to him, now the parties are going to start detailed planning and mapping of the project. This process will take a year and a half.

As Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan noted, the parties plan to sign a trilateral agreement between Russia, China and Mongolia on cooperation in the field of this gas pipeline.

Earlier, the director of the special purpose company "Soyuz Vostok Gas Pipeline" Evgeny Aseev told the agency MONTSAME that 12 thousand workers will be hired for the construction of the pipeline, 20% of them from Mongolia. At the same time, the share of Mongolian workers in construction is planned to increase to 50%.

On January 25, Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan and Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Board, signed a protocol on the completion of a feasibility study (feasibility study) for the construction of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline. The gas pipeline will pass through the territory of Mongolia and will be a continuation of the Russian gas pipeline "Power of Siberia - 2", the export capacity of which may exceed the capacity of the gas pipeline "Power of Siberia" by more than 1.3 times. The feasibility study of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline construction project includes a detailed calculation of investment and operating costs.
