The Chinese authorities expect an increase in trade with Russia by about 30% this year, to $140 billion. This was stated on Thursday by the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of China Shu Jueting.
"We expect that for the whole of this year, the volume of Sino-Russian trade will exceed $ 140 billion," she said at a briefing, commenting on the results of the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place in the format of a videoconference.
According to Shu Jueting, in order to increase economic cooperation with Russia, Beijing plans to actively promote the development of e-commerce, writes TASS.
According to the statistics of the General Customs Administration of China, the trade turnover of the Russian Federation and China from January to November inclusive increased by 33.6% year-on-year, amounting to $130.42 billion. As follows from the published data, exports to Russia for 11 months increased by 31.1% and amounted to about $ 59.44 billion, and imports of Russian goods and services - by 35.5%, to $70.98 billion.
The volume of trade between Russia and China in 2019 increased by 3.4%, exceeding $110.75 billion, and in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it decreased by 2.9% (to $107.76 billion).
