IOC Vice President: Beijing Olympics will not be postponed due to coronavirus.Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr. ruled out the option of postponing the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing due to coronavirus.
"Our answer is no. We have learned that we need to be flexible and adapt quickly. We have a very strong team in Beijing, they are ready for any scenario. We are confident that the Games will not be rescheduled, and we are ready for anything. We will start the Games on time - the Beijing Olympics will be extremely safe from the point of view of the coronavirus. If the situation with COVID-19 changes, we have protocols for any case, we will adapt. These will be very safe games," Samaranch told reporters.
