China is confident in the success of the Winter Olympics

ChinaChina has stated that it is confident in the success of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

This confidence is also given to them by the support of Russia, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said.
He recalled that China and Russia are "great sports powers."
The Chinese authorities, against the background of the support of Russia and the international community, are firmly confident in the upcoming successful holding of the Winter Olympics in the capital of the People's Republic of China. This was announced on Friday by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian.
"China highly appreciates the position of Russia, which supports the Beijing Olympics and hopes for its holding," he said at a briefing. "With broad support from the international community, the Chinese side is absolutely confident that it will be able to present safe and brilliant Games to the world."
The diplomat recalled that China and Russia are "great sports powers." "We always support each other during the Olympic Games," he stressed.
According to the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already received an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping to take part in the opening of the Games. Zhao Lijian noted that the visit of the Russian leader "will write a new page" in the history of cooperation between the two countries at the highest level.
"The peoples of China and Russia have great expectations about the upcoming Olympics," he added.
As Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday, Moscow opposes the politicization of the Olympic Games anywhere in the world, including in China. She also expressed confidence that the PRC "will be able to organize this sporting event at the highest level in the conditions of existing anti-epidemic restrictions."
Recall that the XXIV Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing from February 4 to 20, 2022. The capital of the People's Republic of China was chosen as the venue for its holding at the session of the International Olympic Committee in Kuala Lumpur on July 31, 2015.
