This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak following a meeting of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental Commission on Energy Cooperation, his words are quoted in the Cabinet of Ministers.
"We are in favor of further increasing coal supplies, in connection with which new long-term contracts will be worked out, as well as joint development of coal deposits in Russia, in particular the Zashulansky coal deposit in Transbaikalia," Novak said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted the prospects for cooperation in the gas sector. The parties noted that by the end of October 2021, 12 billion cubic meters of natural gas had been pumped through the eastern route. "This testifies to the stable nature of the partnership between our countries. There are active consultations on other projects," said Han Zheng, Deputy Premier of the State Council of China.
"The dialogue is complemented by the coordinated work of diverse formats. Our countries are confidently overcoming the negative consequences of the epidemic and successfully solving the task of returning cooperation to the growth trajectory. Last year, the bilateral trade turnover amounted to $104 billion," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
According to him, Russia's leading oil and gas companies are showing interest in developing relations with the Chinese side. Major joint projects are being implemented in the oil and gas sector, such as Udmurtneft, Yamal LNG, Arctic LNG - 2.
It was noted that in the oil and gas sector, significant potential is concentrated in terms of joint exploration and development of Russia's oil and gas reserves both onshore and on the continental shelf of the country, the continuation of oil transportation from Russia to China via Far Eastern routes, natural gas supplies and processing, as well as LNG and the production of petrochemical products in the east of Russia.
