"The decision of the CPC Central Committee on the main achievements and historical experience of the centennial struggle of the party" was unanimously approved by almost four hundred participants of the plenum on November 11. On the same day, it was decided to hold the XX National Congress of the CPC in the second half of 2022.
The last year has been extremely difficult, the CPC Central Committee noted. The world has undergone "unprecedented events in the last hundred years– - the coronavirus pandemic. "The external environment has become increasingly complex and harsh, the tasks of preventing and controlling the epidemic and ensuring socio-economic development in China have turned out to be extremely difficult and time-consuming," the introduction to the communique on the results of the plenum says. However, "carrying the banner of socialism high," China managed to cope with the disaster.
"At the plenum it was confirmed that the generalization of the main achievements and historical experience of the centennial struggle of the party is necessary to start a new campaign for the comprehensive construction of a modernized socialist state in the historical conditions of the centennial anniversary of the CPC, for the preservation and development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in a new era," the document says. In other words, China is now ready to move to a new stage of development under the leadership of Xi Jinping.
