The Research Center of the Geological Administration of the People's Republic of China presented a report on the reserves of mineral resources in the world on Friday. This was reported by the Xinhua news Agency.

Chinese researchers analyzed data from more than 3 thousand mining projects around the world. According to their calculations, as of 2020, the world reserves of lithium carbonate amounted to 128 million tons, nickel - 90.63 million tons. Experts believe that by the end of last year there are still 6.68 million tons of cobalt and 3.27 million tons of tin left in the world. The reserves of silvin (potassium chloride) are estimated by them at 12.9 billion tons.

According to Chinese experts, in 2020 alone, the countries of the world consumed approximately 170 thousand tons of cobalt and 380 thousand tons of tin, which indicates a relative shortage of these two resources.

The Research Center plans to complete a dynamic assessment of 40 major mineral resources of the world in the next five years.

The report was presented at the 23rd China Mining Industry Conference and Exhibition. This is the first professional study prepared by Chinese specialists in this field.
