US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping intend to hold a virtual summit by the end of this year, a senior representative of the US administration said. According to a representative of the US authorities quoted by Bloomberg, an "agreement in principle" on holding a summit meeting was reached during 6-hour talks between Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Yang Jiechi, a member of the politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The meeting of high-ranking officials of the two countries took place earlier in Zurich.
