"Together for a common future" – this motto was announced on Friday by members of the organizing committee of the Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games. The ceremony was held at the Beijing Museum of the Chinese capital.
"The motto demonstrates the unity and collective efforts of the Olympic Movement in achieving peace and progress throughout the world," the message reads.
The organizing committee noted that the chosen words also reflect the need for coordinated work of humanity "on a common better future", especially during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The process of choosing a motto for the competition began back in 2020. In total, the organizing committee selected almost 79 variants of the slogan, 11 of which were included in the shortlist and evaluated by experts from various fields.
The Winter Olympics will be held in the capital of China from February 4 to 22, 2022
