The Chinese authorities reported no increase in unemployment in August

The share of unemployed among the urban population of China in August was 5.1%, unchanged from July.

As the State Statistical Office of China reported on Wednesday, the authorities have created 9.38 million new jobs in eight months.
Data on the employment market in rural areas are never provided in monthly government reports on the domestic economic situation in the People's Republic of China. This is due to the specifics of the factors that affect the change in the corresponding indicator.
As specified in the report distributed at a press conference, unemployment among people under 25 years of age was 15.3%. The main category of citizens aged 25 to 59 years, it reaches 4.3%, writes "TASS".
According to statistics, in 2020, the Chinese government achieved an increase in the number of employed persons by 11.86 million people, having fulfilled the plan by 131.8%. The unemployment rate then was 5.2%.
