The Chinese authorities will begin vaccination against a new type of coronavirus in children aged three years and older with a drug from the national pharmaceutical company Sinopharm, created in a laboratory in the city of Wuhan.

This is stated in a statement published on Wednesday on the website of the vaccine manufacturer.
As specified in the message, vaccinations for minors under the age of 17 will be made in emergency cases. The corresponding decision was made by the Chinese epidemiological control authorities.
According to the management of Sinopharm, the effectiveness of children's vaccination with this drug is 96.1%. "It is completely safe, only a slight negative reaction is possible, no complications have been recorded," the statement emphasizes.
Sinopharm has created two inactivated coronavirus vaccines (one in the capital's laboratory, the other in Wuhan). In mid-July, the information portal "Pengpai" reported that the Chinese authorities approved the use of the Beijing drug for people aged 3 to 17 years. Thus, now both Sinopharm products can officially be used in China among minors.
