The Chinese authorities have included ambitious plans for the development of biomedical technologies in the country's socio-economic development project for the 15th five-year period (2026-2030). Special attention will be paid to in-depth research in genome editing, precise molecular delivery, cellular programming and synthesis of artificial organs.
In addition, Beijing intends to accelerate the development of specialized chips and algorithms for medical neural interfaces. They will be used for the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases, motor rehabilitation and health monitoring, which will advance both software and hardware in this area.
The document, published on the first day of the 4th session of the National People's Congress of the 14th convocation, emphasizes that the priority areas will be both the creation of innovative living systems and the introduction of high-tech devices for the medicine of the future.
