A 24-year-old Chinese woman gave birth to five twins at the Zhongnan Hospital in Wuhan. According to Chinese media, the probability of natural conception of five twins is estimated at about one case in 60 million. The doctors noted that this is the largest case of multiple pregnancies for the clinic in recent years.
The birth took place at the 28th week of pregnancy. A boy weighing 990 g was the first to be born, followed by four girls weighing from 870 to 1,030 g. The condition of newborns at birth was estimated at 6 points on the Apgar scale, which is considered a satisfactory indicator for premature babies.
Currently, all five are under observation in the neonatology department. According to doctors, the vital signs of infants are stable, they receive the necessary specialized care.
