Russian Russian kokoshniks, traditional costumes, embroidery, decorative items, as well as paintings and photographs have opened an exhibition in Hong Kong. The exhibition was organized by the Russian Club with the support of the Russian Consulate General in Hong Kong.
According to the curator of the project Irina Ustyugova, 11 artists participate in the exhibition, and the kokoshniks, reinterpreted in a modern way, occupy the central place in it. When creating them, the authors used local materials, including silk from China and Thailand, and the hats themselves were presented in photo shoots against the backdrop of Hong Kong's urban landscapes, emphasizing the dialogue of cultures.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by members of the public, diplomats, journalists and artists. The guests noted that the exhibition clearly demonstrates the integration of Russian artistic traditions into the cultural space of China and contributes to the development of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. The exhibition is open at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre and will last until January 26.
