China and Russia jointly advocate for the protection of the results of the Second World War. This was stated by Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui. He stressed the convergence of the two countries' approaches to issues of historical memory.
According to the diplomat, in 2025, the leaders of China and Russia took part in commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, and also agreed on further steps to develop bilateral relations. He noted that Moscow and Beijing consistently defend the results of the war and oppose their revision.
As part of the exchange of visits, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Russia in May, and Russian President Vladimir Putin visited China at the invitation of the Chinese side in late August and early September. He took part in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II.
