According to the Chinese customs, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $228.1 billion at the end of the year.

The volume of trade between China and Russia in 2025 decreased by 6.9% compared to the previous year and reached $228.1 billion. This was announced by the General Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China, which published the final statistics of foreign economic activity.

Exports from China to Russia decreased by 10.4% to $103.3 billion during the reporting period, while imports of Russian goods to China decreased by 3.9% to $124.79 billion. As a result, Russia's trade surplus with China increased to $21.49 billion, which is 55.4% more than in 2024.

At the same time, in December 2025, the bilateral trade turnover increased significantly compared to November — by 19.6%, to $24.39 billion. Russian exports to China are traditionally based on energy resources, while China supplies Russia with a wide range of industrial and consumer products; previously, the authorities of the two countries announced their intention to diversify the structure of trade through new industries.
