According to a study by the Skills Road School, most teachers note that learning Chinese causes moderate difficulties for Russian-speaking students. Most of the teachers believe that the students' actual level of language proficiency generally corresponds to their own assessment.
Among the key requests of students, teachers name methods of memorizing hieroglyphs, practicing tones and improving pronunciation, as well as the desire to learn how to express thoughts fluently in Chinese. The main difficulties are related to the tonality and differentiation of similar-sounding words, as well as the construction of complex syntactic constructions.
The teachers also identify various motivational factors: academic goals, professional prospects, interest in Chinese culture, and a desire for personal development. They note that dividing learning tasks into smaller steps helps students maintain confidence and make steady progress in language learning.
