The Chinese humanoid robot AgiBot A2 has set a world record by traveling more than 100 km continuously between Suzhou and Shanghai.

Developed by Shanghai-based AgiBot, the humanoid robot walked 106 km without a single stop, setting a world record officially confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records. The route ran between the cities of Suzhou and Shanghai, and the result was recorded as "the longest walking journey of a humanoid robot."

The AgiBot A2 model uses two GPS modules, lidar and infrared depth sensors, which allows it to navigate confidently in difficult conditions around the clock. The robot took off from Suzhou late in the evening on November 10 and entered Shanghai's Bund on the morning of November 13. It has gone all the way continuously thanks to the quick battery replacement system.

Founded in Shanghai in 2023, AgiBot specializes in service robots for hotels, logistics and cleaning. The growth of record-breaking developments fits into a large-scale breakthrough in Chinese robotics: by the end of 2024, the number of enterprises in this sector exceeded 451 thousand, which is three times more than four years ago.
