Chinese engineers have put into action a jetpack that allows a person to take to the air and move at high speed. The development was carried out by specialists from the Huzhou Research Institute at Zhejiang University.
According to China Central Television, the tests were successful: the pilot reached speeds of up to 100 km/h. According to Jiao Bojing, an engineer from the JetRob team, the work on the project took about four years, and the test flights continued for another two years. He noted that the current model has become "the most mature and perfect system" of all those created earlier.
The satchel is equipped with five jet engines and fuel tanks, its weight with a full tank is 46 kilograms. The duration of the flight at an altitude of more than two meters above the ground reaches five minutes. Jiao Bojing added that in the future, such devices will be able to be used not only by humans, but also by robots performing tasks in difficult and dangerous conditions.
