Wu Xinbo, a professor at Fudan University, said that Beijing's decisive response forced the United States to ease pressure on China.

US President Donald Trump was forced to soften anti-Chinese measures after Beijing's harsh reaction, said Wu Xinbo, director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. According to him, China's resolute position forced Washington to suspend or lift some of the restrictions, as they also harmed American interests.

The expert noted that the tariffs imposed by the United States did create certain difficulties for the Chinese economy, but they did not contribute to achieving the desired effect. He also stressed that the effectiveness of such measures is decreasing over time, and the meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Busan contributed to a partial easing of tensions in relations.

According to Wu Xinbo, despite the temporary improvement in dialogue, the strategic rivalry between China and the United States will remain. He described the current stabilization as fragile, noting that friction and struggle between the two powers will remain the norm.
