Chinese scientists have stated that the origin of the coronavirus can only be natural.This is stated in an article published in the scientific journal Science China Life Sciences.
The scientists also tested the version of the artificial origin of the virus in the laboratory and concluded that it could not be true.
More than 20 Chinese scientists and a British researcher were engaged in studying the source of the coronavirus, writes TASS. Together, they conducted their scientific research and came to the conclusion that the coronavirus still arose naturally.
The scientists explained their conclusion by the theory of evolution as follows, in their opinion, the new SARS-CoV-2 virus has adapted very well to the human population compared to the SARS-CoV sample of 2003.
Such a level of adaptability could develop over a long period, experts write.
Before the COVID-19 outbreak, the virus seems to have undergone some forms of evolution in the human population, which led to its degree of adaptability, but it is still unclear exactly how this happened.
"SARS-CoV-2 could not have developed in an animal market in a big city, and even less likely in a laboratory. When discussing the origin of SARS-CoV-2, it is necessary to take into account the long process of adaptation shift, " the scientific article says.
