According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the list includes American companies Dedrone by Axon, DZYNE Technologies, Elbit Systems of America, Epirus, AeroVironment, as well as British BAE Systems, Canadian Halifax International Security Forum and TechInsights Inc. along with their foreign divisions, including representative offices in Europe, Japan and South Korea. Most of these organizations are associated with the military-industrial complex.
According to the ministry, the measures were taken "in order to protect the sovereignty, security and development interests of the PRC" and comply with national laws on foreign trade and countering foreign sanctions. The companies included in the list are deprived of the right to trade and invest in China, and local firms and citizens are prohibited from cooperating with them.
The decision comes into force immediately and, according to the Ministry, reflects China's position regarding external pressure and restrictions imposed against its national interests.
