At the moment, the typhoon is moving from the Luzon Strait area between Taiwan and the Philippines, with wind gusts already exceeding 60 m/s.
During September 24-25, Ragasa will affect Hainan Island, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as well as the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. By September 26, its impact will spread to the northern regions of Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as to the Chinese province of Yunnan, which increases the risks of large-scale destruction and disruptions in transport.
Typhoon season in China is traditionally accompanied by hurricane-force winds, floods and landslides. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China reported that in August, more than 10 million citizens faced the consequences of natural disasters, hundreds of thousands of residents had to be evacuated, and more than a hundred people died or are missing.
