The Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) has reported a rapid increase in demand for tours, flights and hotel reservations in China after the introduction of a visa-free regime. Experts note a 50-100% increase in tourist interest, while the average cost of air travel has increased by 15-20%.
According to Ozon Travel, in the first ten days of September, the number of bookings for tours to China increased by more than 60% year-on-year, while the average check remains stable, but there is already an upward trend. During the same time, the number of bookings for hotels in China through the platform has doubled, which demonstrates the active interest of travelers to various destinations in the country.
The tour operators Fun&Sun and the Spectrum Group of companies have recorded significant sales growth, especially for trips to mainland China and Hainan. Evgenia Konkol, President of Spectrum, stressed that the number of applications over the past week and a half has increased by more than 50% compared to August. This means that visa cancellation has become a key factor in stimulating the tourist flow.
