Russia and China will create an agro-industrial cluster with investments of up to 10 billion rubles

Урожай

The construction agreement was signed at the Eastern Economic Forum.

The new Nizhneleninskoye – Tongjiang agro-industrial cluster will combine full-cycle elevators and production facilities with a high degree of processing. The volume of investments is estimated at 10 billion rubles, and the project will be implemented with the support of the government of the Jewish Autonomous Region, which the initiators call a strategically important territory for increasing agricultural production.

It is assumed that the creation of the cluster will make it possible to use tens of thousands of hectares of the so-called "fallow" lands of the region. In addition, the bridge over the Amur River will provide a convenient transport link to Chinese markets, which will make it possible to increase the supply of Russian products and consider the prospects for expanding the project to neighboring regions.

The project is currently being studied by the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia and the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China for possible inclusion in pilot Russian-Chinese agricultural cooperation zones. In August, experts from both countries have already selected several thousand hectares for the first crops, which will be the start for the creation of a new grain corridor as part of the long-term strategy of food cooperation between Russia and China.
