China to mark 80th anniversary of Victory in WWII with large-scale parade

Beijing is preparing for celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China intends not only to celebrate the anniversary, but also to emphasize the importance of a proper understanding of history. According to him, the country will defend justice and strengthen international cooperation to protect the achievements related to the end of the war.

The Chinese leader stressed that Beijing is ready to resolutely defend the results of the victory and develop ideas for the common future of mankind. He plans to support global governance reforms and promote initiatives that will benefit the world.

The central event will be a military parade on September 3, to which leaders of more than 20 countries are invited, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The People's Liberation Army of China will present 45 calculations, modern weapons, including missiles, aircraft, tanks and unmanned systems of national production.
