The world humanoid robot competition has begun in the capital of China at the National Skating Stadium, in which 280 teams from 16 countries participate. On the first day, the audience saw running disciplines, football matches and spectacular fights without rules. Some of the cars surprised with their agility and speed, although from time to time they lost their balance or orientation in space.
One of the most anticipated events was a five-on-five football match, fully controlled by artificial intelligence algorithms with minimal human involvement. In total, the competition program includes 26 types of tests, including running at distances from 100 m to 1.5 km, long and high jumps, table tennis, as well as artistic and professional competitions.
The robots will demonstrate to the audience not only sports skills, but also dancing and wushu, as well as compete in sorting goods, working in production, medical institutions and serving hotel guests. The event was organized by the Beijing administration, the Media Corporation of China and international organizations in the field of robotics, and the competition will end on August 17.
